Be A Guest Reader At Cabrillo Elementary School on READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY March 2, 2018
Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2 in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. For the 20th anniversary of the program, Point Loma Assembly has partnered with Cabrillo Elementary to identify seven volunteer Guest Readers for the event.
What Does a “Guest Reader” do? On Friday, March 2, approximately 9-10:30 a.m., you will visit a classroom at Cabrillo Elementary School and read a book and engage the class in discussion for 20 minutes, then move to a second classroom and read the same book to another class.
Anyone interested in being a volunteer reader must complete a short School Volunteer Application and a TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire.
